Scope and Sequence Throughout Everyday Mathematics, students repeatedly experience concepts and skills in each of the program's mathematical strands. Each exposure is designed to build on and extend students' existing understanding. They study important concepts over consecutive years through a variety of formats. The Scope and Sequence Charts that follow show the units in which exposures occur and the developmental level of the skill or concept. The three levels of skill and concept development used in the charts are Beginning, Developing, and Secure. These levels refer to expectations within the K-6 Everyday Mathematics curriculum. Naturally, actual student performance will vary.
